hiking MongoliaCustomized Trips
We offer customized trips for small groups (maximum 8 people). We will work with you to arrange the length and type of trip that will best fit your group’s abilities and desires. Trips can range from 7 days to 4 weeks.

We recommend our trips for those who would like to spend time truly experiencing the people and places that they visit. These are not large group trips run by large organizations. Our “organization” is our family, and the guided trips are borne out of our love for Mongolia.

Generally, our trips revolve around horseback riding, day hiking, cultural activities, nomadic family visits, and hot spring immersions in the countryside. However, we are experienced backpackers and cyclists, so customized backpacking and cycling routes can be arranged upon request.

Trips may include one or more of the following:

  • Horseback riding – day trips or treks
  • Day hiking
  • Backpacking—remote hiking and camping, with nomadic family visits
  • Ger camping: countryside “yurt lodging”
  • Tent camping
  • Nomadic family visits and cultural immersion
  • Mongolian language lessons
  • Hot springs soaks and tours
  • Naadam festival in Tsetserleg, Arkhangai (July 11-12)
  • Buddhist monastery visits and visit with Mongolian monk
  • Massage is available from Enkhee (your guide) upon request during your travel
  • Visiting remote wilderness
  • Van travel and tours
  • Museum (history and/or art) visits
  • Mongolian dancing, contortionists, throat singing, and traditional music performances

If you are interested in designing your own trip, please contact us directly and we will design a trip that fits you best.
